The Word of God has all the answers that we will ever need in this life – our own personal cheat sheet!
Peter walked with God and saw many miracles, but Peter said that there was something even greater than seeing and walking with Jesus! How can that be?
In 2 Peter 1:19–21 (The Message), Peter said, “We couldn’t be more sure of what we saw and heard—God’s glory, God’s voice. The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. You’ll do well to keep
focusing on it. It’s the one light you have in a dark time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star in your hearts. The main thing to keep in mind here is that no prophecy of
Scripture is a matter of private opinion. And why? Because it’s not something concocted in the human heart. Prophecy resulted when the Holy Spirit prompted men and women to speak God’s Word.”
Peter was saying that the Word of God is the most important thing that you and I will ever have.
Why? The Word is what will set you free. The Word contains what Jesus has already accomplished for us. If you don’t know what the Word says about your victory, then the devil can deceive you into begging for God to do something for you that He’s already done. The Bible tells us what we already have, we just have to believe it!
